I believe that almost all social media platforms can be
geared for both business and personal use, however there are a few exceptions.
I think Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Twitter can be used
strictly for personal use. People love to talk about themselves or fixate on
what they are doing or have done. These specific platforms allow them to create
their own virtual world whether it’s through audio, pictures, video or words.
The platform I feel is geared strictly
for business is Linkedin because of the content associated with the platform
such as resumes and job listings. This platform is crucial for a normal
everyday person looking for new career opportunities. This platform is also
crucial for any human resources department looking for new employees in the
career field available for hire. This could be the only platform that couldn’t
be used for both business and personal.
All the social media platforms I
listed in the first paragraph can be used for personal and business use. It
seems to be becoming a standard that all businesses have all of the platforms
in modern society. It would make sense to me if I were a business owner, the
more social media outlets I have, more opportunity for consumers to see the
business.
